Following
Green Energy Storage’s access to €53 million in funding through the IPCEI programme, GES is continuing its research and development roadmap through strategic partnerships.
On
25 July 2022, at the headquarters of the Autonomous Province of Trento,
Green Energy Storage, Fondazione Bruno Kessler (FBK) and the Autonomous Province of Trento presented their development objectives for
next-generation batteries and energy storage systems during a joint press conference.
The initiative is part of
IPCEI EuBatIn – European Battery Innovation, aimed at developing innovative technologies across the European battery value chain.
GES and FBK together for energy storage innovation
The project brings together the expertise of
Green Energy Storage and FBK in the research and development of new energy storage technologies.
For GES, the
€53 million IPCEI funding supports the development of its
hydrogen battery, designed for stationary energy storage applications and based on an innovative architecture focused on performance, sustainability and competitiveness.
FBK received a further
€6.5 million for research into new battery components, materials and systems, bringing the combined funding for the two Trentino-based projects to more than €59 million.
Trentino as an ecosystem for battery research
The press conference also highlighted the role of Trentino in fostering collaboration between
companies, research centres and public institutions.
The partnership between GES and FBK aims to connect scientific research, technological development and future industrialisation, strengthening local expertise in a sector that is increasingly strategic for the
energy transition and renewable energy storage.
The IPCEI programme also includes research activities, the development of new technologies and new laboratories for testing the solutions developed through the projects.
The GES, FBK and Autonomous Province of Trento project in the media
The initiative received extensive coverage from Italian national and local media, including
RAI News – TGR Trentino, ANSA, ItaliaOggi, Innovation Post and several regional publications.
For the English page,
I would not reproduce all 13 Italian press links unless the English version currently follows the same editorial convention. I would instead use a concise sentence such as the one above and retain two or three representative sources, for example:
