GES and De Nora join forces to accelerate hydrogen battery development

Green Energy Storage and Industrie De Nora S.p.A. have entered into a strategic partnership to accelerate the development of GES’s hydrogen battery, combining research and development expertise with industrial know-how in electrochemistry. The agreement attracted significant attention from both Italian and international media, highlighting growing interest in new energy storage technologies and in the role of hydrogen in developing innovative solutions for the energy transition.

A partnership to develop and validate the GES hydrogen battery

The partnership between Green Energy Storage and De Nora involves the creation of a testing, development and optimisation platform for GES’s patented hydrogen battery prototype, which had already been validated in the laboratory and was entering the pre-industrialisation phase when the agreement was announced. The collaboration aims to improve battery performance in terms of power, energy density and lifecycle, develop increasingly efficient and economically sustainable components, and accelerate GES’s roadmap towards pre-commercial validation. The agreement also combines GES’s technological expertise with De Nora’s long-standing experience in electrochemistry and hydrogen technologies, with specific collaboration on electrolyte and catalyst components.
