Green Energy Storage signs partnership with giant dutch research company

The Italian company Green Energy Storage and the Dutch energy research centre Differ (Dutch Institute for Fundamental Energy Research) gained access to a funding by the main Dutch research developer, Nwo, (Netherlands Organisation for Scientific Research).

The project on which Green Energy Storage and Differ will collaborate is called Colorflow and aims to develop new materials for organic flow batteries for electrical energy storage.

Colorwflow is an interesting and original research project: starting from a colouring compounds database for the food sector, stable in their chemical behaviours, a selection process of the best candidates will be launched through computer-based chemical techniques. Key properties will be looked at to identify the best match with the organic flow batteries. The project’s aim is to validate organic materials with higher energy density and high chemical stability, which is necessary to guarantee that batteries last longer in their charging and discharging cycles with a target of over 10,000 hours.

This research will be carried out by Green Energy Storage research team together with Differ scientists coordinated by Süleyman Er. “This project”, says Ilaria Pucher responsible for the research unit at Green Energy Storage, “will allow the company to focus on the development of organic chemicals and to carry out a research that will improve the company’s “green” profile.

Green Energy Storage will provide its research laboratories to experimentally validate the real quality and performance of the chemicals identified. Downstream from the research, Green Energy Storage will be able to count on new generation materials that integrate well with the company’s development plan.
